A venue near PARIS that plays a starring role

Once the home to 60,000 people and famous for being at the illustrious epicentre of the French Revolution, the Château de Versailles revelled in a past as infamous as it was glitteringly creative. Work began in 1661, with more than 30,000 labourers constructing the estate under the guidance of architect Louis Le Vau. An ambitious approach towards decorating the interior resulted in frescoes, marble, wood carvings and gilt adorning every moulding, cornice, ceiling and door of the palace.

I just want to thank you and your team once more. You are beyond great and made my château wedding dream come true. I cannot thank you enough!

Exquisite manicured gardens that are UNMATCHED

Equally impressive and innovative were the design of the grounds. In 1777, Queen Marie Antoinette embarked on reconfiguring the Trianon Gardens and created the English Gardens with its ornamental folly, the Love Monument. A whole model village called The Queen’s Hamlet was also built around an artificial lake – inspired by the charms of rural life and traditional rustic architecture.

The Gallery of BATTLES

Toast the happy couple with cocktails in the Cotelle Gallery of Grand Trianon. Displaying paintings depicting Versailles Park and Groves during the reign of Louis XIV, this ornate room opens onto the surrounding manicured gardens. For even bigger occasions, the vast Gallery of Battles is an epic masterpiece. Commissioned by King Louis-Philippe in 1837, this monumental room runs the entire length of the first floor of the South Wing.

Trianon Palace Hotel

A short stroll from the Palace of Versailles brings you to the Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace Hotel – a five-star hotel and venue tucked inside the middle of lush parkland. For big parties and celebrations, the main ballroom and 199 elegant rooms lets you celebrate to your heart’s content in Versailles, but without the logistical challenge of hosting inside the palace.

The Hall of Crusades

Add an interesting twist to a smaller affair. The Hall of Crusades consists of five rooms in neo-gothic style. The pillars and ceiling are adorned with coats-of-arms denoting France’s most distinguished knights, while the walls feature frescoes from 19th-century battles.

7

The ORANGERIE

Flooded with light and opening onto gardens that overlook 1,200 exotic trees. Open from May to October, the exclusive Orangerie is ideal for grand receptions and seated gala dinners – perhaps with live music or a headline performance to accompany the meal.
