Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, a Five-Star Wedding Venue with Immense History

Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc (formerly known as Villa Soleil) opened in 1870 with the purpose of becoming a writer’s retreat. Actioned by Auguste de Villemessant (founder of French Newspaper Le Figard), the getaway saw guests from the self-proclaimed Lost Generation; F Scott Fitzgerald, who described it as a luxurious hotel for “notable and fashionable people" and Ernest Hemingway who would both choose to spend time there, with the stunning views and remarkable service igniting ideas for their historic literature.

17 years later, Antoine Sella spent two years renovating Villa Soleil, which became Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in 1889. After 13 years of hosting awe-inspiring events, giving unprecedented levels of service and incredible experiences, the hotel received a renovation that would authenticate exactly what it means to be surrounded by luxury. In 1903 central heating, private baths and an elevator were installed (alongside many other enhancements) setting the bar of what it meant to be a five-star hotel. In 1914, Sella used dynamite to carve the Hotel’s iconic seawater swimming pool out of natural Basalt Rock, once again redefining the luxury service industry.

The Salon Îles de Lérins

For grand gatherings and celebrations, the resplendent Salon Ile de Lérins is an ideal versatile space, and can accommodate up to 200 guests for a grand banquet. Benefiting from a private terrace overlooking the azure blue sea, and submerged with natural sunlight, Salon Ile de Lérins can be conveniently divided into three rooms, before being transformed into a magnificent ballroom where you and your guests can dance the night away.

Bespoke Outdoor Structures

For outdoor receptions during which you and your guests can enjoy your wedding party until the early hours, entirely bespoke structures can be built on the tennis courts when you exclusively hire this luxurious property.
