Flights are only a short distance from the Gulf with many direct flights landing at two of Istanbul’s airports from the Gulf.
Palaces by the score
Istanbul has a very long history and it has known many different cultures, from the Greeks, to Viking Varangian Imperial Guard to the Turks and all have left their mark. Many mosques – such as Hagia Sofia – still bear signs of when they were Christian churches and everywhere history is there for the asking. The Ciragan Palace Kempinski brings everything together in one venue – it is a hotel which specialises in weddings and it was also a splendid palace, the home of Ottoman sultans. The rooms are, as might be expected, sumptuous and the gardens are beautiful, laid out formally as they were in their palace days. For food, ambience and just sheer beauty, the Ciragan Palace is hard to beat as a venue for your Arabic wedding in Istanbul.
From a large Arabic wedding to an intimate ceremony
Many people going to Istanbul for their Arabic wedding will have a huge guest list and with such a magical setting, no one will get many refusals! Some of the wedding venues have enormous rooms which can accommodate thousands – the Ciragan Palace, for example, can cater for a thousand in one room for cocktails and canapés – but smaller rooms are also numerous and are ideal for smaller gatherings or for pre-wedding dinners. With most hotels incorporating spas in the building, the wedding party can also chill out with treatments or hair, nails and makeup can all be done in-house, saving time on the day. Wedding venues for Arabic weddings in Istanbul all pride themselves on their cuisine and can conjure up amazing feasts of any kind – you don’t have to stick to their standard menus; just speak to your Scarlet Events' wedding planner and you can have a meal to suit everyone. The wedding cake is a very special item in any wedding celebration and the in-house pastry chefs can create the cake you have always wanted, either from their own portfolio or to your design.
Before and after the wedding
People who have travelled to Istanbul for your Arabic wedding will want to make the most of the city while they are there. It abounds with fabulous and iconic buildings such as Topkapi, Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque with the more intrepid guests perhaps visiting the cisterns beneath the streets. But two palaces in particular should be included in any itinerary – the Dolmabahce palace, one the home of Kemal Ataturk, and the Kucusku Pavilion. Both are now museums and offer interesting days out on the outskirts of the city for those who don’t want to venture too far from the popular wedding venues on the banks of the Bosphorus.
