Having previously married in Las Vegas, Games of Thrones star Sophie Turner and musician Joe Jonas decided to celebrate their new vows by having a bespoke wedding at the enchanting Château de Tourreau.
Located in Provence in South-eastern France, the exclusive international wedding venue provided the ideal setting for the celebrity couple’s eagerly anticipated nuptials on 29 June 2019.
So, what do we know about the wedding and how can future brides and grooms take their vows in a bespoke venue like the Château de Tourreau but tailored to their celebration?
Set across magnificent 20-acre grounds and incorporating a courtyard and stunning patio at the water’s edge, the Château de Tourreau is a coveted venue.
Located at the heart of Provence and with an exterior featuring trees that have decorated the path to the venue for more than 100 years, the castle offers many spectacular settings, including an infinity pool.
The chapel was built in 1614 after the Tourreau’s family from nearby Avignon acquired the plot of land. Between the years of 1750 and 1770, François Bénézet de Tourreau built the château based on plans from the architect Brun.
Surviving the French Revolution, the château has been improved over the centuries and its historic setting has been home to different owners.
Having been together since 2016, Sophie and Joe initially eloped in Las Vegas just hours after the 2019 Billboard Music Awards but later chose to have a bespoke destination wedding in France.
Wedding guests for the high-profile couple included their closest family and friends, with Joe’s brothers, Nick and Kevin, and their wives, Priyanka and Danielle attending the celebratory occasion.
It is believed that Priyanka Chopra and Sophie’s Game of Thrones co-star and best friend, Maisie Williams, both shared the important role of Maid of Honour.
Partly due to their busy schedule but also due to ensuring that their wedding day was perfect, Sophie and Joe also consulted with a wedding planner. They stated that their wedding planner took creative ownership in relation to planning the party after their vows took place.
The Designer Wedding Dress and Wedding Suit
Sophie wore a breath-taking gown, designed by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Louis Vuitton, which the designer seemed thrilled to share on Instagram stating the bride’s undeniable beauty.
Joe wore a Berluti tuxedo, designed by the label's Artistic Director, Kris van Assche. The bride and groom both looked very sophisticated and used both of their Instagram pages as a platform to share joint posts of their special day with their followers.
