Established by renowned Swiss hotelier César Ritz, The Ritz London established itself as one of very few hotels to be popular amongst the privileged individuals of its time; particularly prominent actors, socialites and the Royal Family. As the hotel was adorned with enviable furnishings and interiors that reflected the fact that no expense was spared even at the beginning of the venue’s conception, it’s understandable that The Ritz was London’s most prestigious hotel.
Amongst the esteemed guests who have stayed at The Ritz London since it first opened its doors are King Edward VII, Prime Minister Harold Macmillan and actor Charlie Chaplin. During World War II, Charles de Gaulle, Winston Churchill and Dwight Eisenhower met in the hotel’s Marie Antoinette Suite, to discuss strategies. Sir Roger Moore also received his knighthood at the prestigious hotel in 2003; Roger was addressed as Mister when he arrived but left as Sir.

Awarded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2002, The Ritz London has attained a Royal Warrant for Banqueting and Catering Services. It is the first and only hotel to ever gain this honour. The exclusive hotel’s royal associations do not end there. HM Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Golden Jubilee, which marked 50 years on the throne, at The Ritz later that year.

Available for exclusive hire, William Kent House can accommodate a maximum of 200 guests standing.
William Kent House is the perfect option for clients who wish complete privacy with its discreet location within the hotel, coupled with private access through the rear of the hotel.
Incorporating grand decor inspired by the Italian Renaissance, the regal William Kent Room is the luxury hotel’s signature private dining room also provides breathtaking views of Green Park. The beautiful red baroque design makes for a striking backdrop for any event. The capacity of the William Kent Room can accommodate 26 seated guests, making it the perfect option for intimate weddings.
The first private dining room within The Ritz, the Marie Antoinette Suite is located off the hotel's long gallery and delivers a well-established and opulent setting, inspired by a salon in the Palace of Versailles. The sophisticated decor lends itself to many occasions including wedding ceremonies, receptions and decadent afternoon teas. The Marie Antoinette Suite can comfortably accommodate 60 seated or 80 standing guests.
Located in the centre of William Kent House, the Great Hall features grandiose architecture and provides phenomenal views that would provide a beautiful backdrop for a wedding ceremony. It is the centrepiece of the venue and its magnificent staircase is ideal for a stunning floral display. The Great Hall can accommodate 50 standing.
Offering an abundance of natural light, the Music Room is the largest private dining room at The Ritz. Able to accommodate up to 60 seated or 100 guests standing and designed in soft pastel shades, the room offers a bright and enchanting setting in which to celebrate your wedding or party.

The Ritz Restaurant was awarded a Michelin Star in the Michelin Guide’s 2017 edition for Great Britain and Ireland, which it still retains in 2020. The hotel’s award-winning Ritz Club is a private club, exclusively dedicated to its elite members. The restaurant serves decadent food from countries around the world, including modern British cuisine.
With menus that change seasonally, the Ritz Restaurant uses only the finest ingredients to create innovative gourmet dishes inspired by traditional recipes.
